Obama Rising -- The 21st Century Grassroots Campaign

It has only been about 2 weeks since Barack Obama officially threw his hat in the ring.

Yet so much has been achieved. The Obama campaign is a truly 21st century campaign. So many things are being done at the grassroots level, leveraging the power of the internet.

Since Obama officially declared his candidacy in Springfield, Illinois, the following has happened:

  • 3,306 grassroots volunteer groups have been founded and attracted tens of thousands of members who are organizing online and offline

  • 4,416 personal fundraising pages have been established, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars in small contributions

  • 6,706 people have created their own Obama blogs and begun chronicling why they are supporting Barack and their campaign experience

  • 38,799 people have created profiles in Obama's official website and started networking with other supporters in their community and across the country

Most of the above was possible because of the quick development and launching of Obama's official campaign website which encourages visitors and supporters to get involved in the campaign. Using Obama's website you can:

  • Find supporters near you and organize a local campaign group

  • Network with supporters around the nation

  • Create your own fundraising page

  • Plan and attend events

  • Create a Blog to chronicle your activities

And it continues to gather steam. Hillary's campaign on the other hand is losing steam.

People who once supported Clinton are flocking to Obama. Number one is Geffen who single-handedly started the "Geffen-Gate" spat between the Clinto and Obama camps. Second are the African-Americans who used to support Clinton, they are now moving to the Obama camp. And now Greg Craig, a Washington super-lawyer with close ties to the Clintons, is now supporting Sen. Barack Obama for president.

With this growing support, Obama will be able to raise the millions of dollars needed to run an effective campaign. This combined with Obama's massive grassroots support, will easily position Obama to overtake Clinton in time for the primaries.

Obama Fever Spreads in Austin, Texas

There's a new fever in town. And it is contagious. And it is spreading at an unprecedented rate.
Very soon, much of the country might have the fever. There is no known vaccine, there is no known cure. One exposure is all it takes...and you have it.

But fear not, this fever is not a disease. This fever just might be the CURE. The cure to slash and burn politics. The cure to the mess in Iraq. The cure to an ineffective goverment.

This is the Obama fever. Listen to one speech...and you will get it. That's it. Not even holding a photo of Hillary tightly to your chest will give you immunity to the Obama FEVER.

And now it is spreading all over Austin, Texas.

More than 20,000 people filled Auditorium Shores in Austin to hear him speak. The crowd shows Obama’s multi-racial appeal. There were people of many races, both genders, and all ages. No one is immune to the fever.

Obama spoke about universal health care, better education and getting out of Iraq. His message resonates with the crowd.

“He's got a lot of energy,” someone in the audience said. “He's talking about change. That's going to make a difference.”

This is the Vote Obama Blog Admin, and I have been diagnosed with Obama Fever. And I am glad.

Is America Ready for Queen...err...President Hillary?

Some of you may be asking, isn't one reign enough?

Ahh...but this time it will be DIFFERENT. Back then in the Bill Clinton Era, Hillary was merely Queen. Should she get elected to the presidency, I believe she will act not just like a Queen, but a Queen REGNANT. Big difference.

If heads rolled under Queen Hillary's behind-the-scenes power brokering back in the 90's, you can only imagine how many heads will roll under Her Majesty The Queen Regnant Hillary Rodham Clinton's new reign!

Why, even now, as a mere senator, she acts like a queen. She is not to be criticized! She can do no wrong! And worse...she cannot be BOOED!

Mistakes, what mistakes? The Queen makes no mistakes! The Queen is perfect!

Real positions on major issues? No...a Queen does not bother with such things. Such things are for mere plebians! The Queen simply tells the people what they like to hear and the people of the land will stay happy little subjects!

Most of her appearances are very carefully scripted, the visiting subjects must all be duly screened for loyalty before even being allowed to gaze into Her Royal Presence.

Thou must bow at her feet and sing her praises! If you are not with her, then you must be against her, and you are a disloyal subject and surely your head will be made to roll!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not agaist Queen Hilar..err..Hillary because she is a woman. I believe more women should be in power. But Hillary? Hillary? She who doesn't even have a real stance on any major issue?

Now, I'm not going to tell to not to vote for Hillary. Your vote is yours and the decision is yours to make.

But if you do vote for her, then be prepared to bow down before Queen Hillary the First, oh you unworthy plebian. And should you ever regret your vote, just shut up and sing Hail To the Queen lest your head will be made to roll!

Is America Ready for A Black President?

I think that is the wrong question to ask.

First of all, Barack Obama is HALF WHITE-HALF BLACK. You may already know that, but I need to repeat that. His Kenyan father abandoned him and his mother when he was but a baby. He was raised by his white mother and his white grandparents. He rediscovered and reconnected with his African roots only later on in his life. For sometime he was conflicted with his identity. But not anymore. Here we have a unique man, with a truly remarkable life story. Here is a chance for the nation to have a leader who can understand both the issues that concern the majority population, and the issues that concern its largest minority population.
So if the above mentioned question is the wrong one to ask. What is the right question? I think the question should be..."Is America ready for a President who can UNITE a divided country?"

And then answer: HELL YES!

Here we have a man with an uncanny talent for communicating with different types of people. Obama easily connects with African-Americans in urban areas, white farmers in the rural states, new immigrants, the rich, the poor, people from all walks of life.

This is a gift only few politicians have. For most, the above takes a lot of effort. For Obama, it is almost as natural as simply breathing.

It's time for CHANGE. It's time to UNITE a divided nation. It's time for OBAMA.

Hollywood's New Star

Hollywood has a bright new star, and he's not an actor.

He's Senator Barack Obama. Hardly any day goes by without his name mentioned in the news. The Obama star is one that is quickly rising. Whether or not this bright star will become a falling star, only time will tell. But one thing is for sure, this is gonna be an interesting election.

With the nation hungry for change, many people are looking to the fresh face in Washington that is Obama. He's got new ideas. He has an uncanny talent of connecting with all kinds of people. The kind we have not seen since Reagan and Bill Clinton. And now, he's made valuable connections with the elite of Hollywood.

Obama collected more than $1 million dollars in donations at a gala filled with some of hollywood's biggest stars.

He may be currently trailing behind Clinton, but I have a feeling it's going to be neck and neck pretty soon.

So Mrs. Clinton, watch your arse. Obama is hot on your trail.

In Hollywood, as he has every place he's visited so far, Obama vowed to end the senseless war in Iraq and expand health coverage to one and all.

"There's a sense that we have a government that is no longer responding to ordinary people, that it's become an insider's game, that it's all about slash and burn, and negative politics and deal-making, but that it is not expressing the basic values and ideals that we hold as Americans," he said.

His message resonates with many people unhappy with the way things have been going the last few years.

Marilyn Ventress, a 51-year-old Pasadena woman said "People are craving authenticity, and I think that's what he has."

That he has indeed.
